Equipoise
A four-song journey through balance, transformation, shadow and starlight.
The Chantress creates cinematic contemporary folk shaped by nature, voice and the mysteries within us. Layered vocal harmonies, atmospheric soundscapes and poetic lyrics explore the places where the earthly and otherworldly meet; cycles of change, connection, shadow and becoming.
Inspired by the natural world and the turning of the seasons, her songs draw listeners into landscapes both real and imagined: from woodland paths and shifting light to starlit skies and the spaces between worlds. There is an ancient thread running through the music, woven into contemporary production through acoustic instruments, synths and richly layered voice.
At the heart of The Chantress is an invitation: to notice, to feel, and perhaps to recognise something of ourselves in the rhythms and transformations of the world around us.
Her current project, Equipoise, explores balance and transformation through songs of earth, shadow, spirit and starlight, beginning with Mabon, inspired by the autumn equinox.
